Melanie Tait is an Australian broadcaster, writer, and playwright. She has been writing since she could pick up a pencil, and her work includes Fat Chance: My Big Fat Gastric Band Adventure (2010) and the comedy play The Vegemite Tales, which was staged in London from 2001–2007, including two years on the West End.
Melanie began her radio career as a producer on the John Laws Morning Show at 2UE in Sydney, before moving to the ABC as a rural reporter in Darwin. During her career with the ABC she has travelled all over Australia for ABC Rural, ABC News and ABC Local Radio. She now presents the statewide Evenings program for ABC Radio Hobart and Now Hear This for Radio National.
