Katherine Scholes is a bestselling Tasmanian author, whose books have sold more that two million copies worldwide. She was born in Tanzania, which is the setting for many of her novels. She has won a New South Wales State Literary Award and was longlisted in the International Dublin Literary Awards. Her work has been translated into over a dozen languages, and includes children’s fiction and non-fiction as well as novels for adults.
Katherine’s most recent novel is Congo Dawn (2017), which follows her previous novels, The Perfect Wife, The Lioness, The Hunter’s Wife, The Stone Angel, The Rain Queen, Make Me An Idol and The Blue Chameleon. Her books for children include Peacetimes, We the Earth, The Landing, and The Boy and the Whale.
