This year the Tasmanian Writers and Readers Festival is excited to announce the inaugural Emerging Tasmanian Aboriginal Writers Award as part of the 2017 Tasmanian Writers & Readers Festival and Hidden Stories program.

Entries have now been received and sent to the judges. The announcement will be made after Welcome to Country and prior to AC Grayling’s opening address on The Challenge of Freedom.

The winning entrant will receive prize money of $1,200 (awarded at the discretion of the judges) alongside professional support via membership to the Tasmanian Writers Centre.

The Hidden Stories panel discussion (Sat 16 September, 3.30pm-4.30pm) will include a reading of the award-winning short story.
